With the help of YouTube, several music artists are getting record deals left and right. It’s seem like every week a new, up and coming artist appears on YouTube and gains a solid following. With that, I thought Google should take advantage of this and start their own record company, “Google Records”. Here me out Homles. Google has partnered with many content creatures with the Partner Program. With Google splitting the ad revenue on videos, YouTubers have made a living off of making videos. Google has even helped start up production companies, Maker Studios anyone? So why not create a deal with music artists, they upload their music on Youtube already, but now they can get more exposure and support to grow.
Okay not really sure where I was going with all that rambling up there, because the main reason I’m typing this out on a Saturday night, was to bring your attention to a few artists that you probably haven’t heard of, yet.
Up first, that came out of no where this week is Machine Gun Kelly:
Performing at the recent SXSW earlier this year, it seemed he impressed at least one person there, P. Diddy. Yup, MGK is signed to Bad Boy Records. And of course the comparisons to that other white rapper who’s been around, keeps popping up.
Next up, Snow Tha Product:
For the record, she is Mexican not white so um yeah. She hasn’t been signed or anything but man, the comparisons to other female music artists from Youtube commenters are there lol!
Introducing Riff Raff:
Yes folks, he has a record deal. With Soulja Boys label of all things. Mr. Hipster Hop himself, adds lensless frames with “colorawful” jewelry and clothes. I’m not hating guys, that’s a cool joint. And his eyes sucks you in from there, derp derp.
Continueing on the Hipster Hop trend is Yelawolf:
It was a hard choice, to include this video or the I steal Lamborghinis video but this one was actually smooth yo. So he’s signed to Shady Records and has millions of views on his videos and has been around. So what. He seems like a nice guy.
HEY I DID WRITE A FIGGIN’ BLOG ABOUT IT YO! Ha. And with that I just would like to talk about all these people that say “Oh music is so terrible these days.” “It’s nothing like the (insert decade here) that was a great time in music.” OH SHUT THE FUCK UP and just take it for what it is! Yes there is bad music today. There is also good music today. There is also bad movies today. There is also good movies today. There is also good/bad, tv shows, books, video games and panda bears. Stop taking all the music and shit SERIOUSLY! Just enjoy the damn music man and take it for what it is. A good time. A moment to spaz the hell out. It’s okay to enjoy the good with the meh.
